Financial Accountant reporting to CFO of DeepVerge plc

Duties and responsibilities of the job

DeepVerge plc, a UK public company listed on the London AIM Exchange, are seeking a Financial Accountant to support the finance function of the multi territory reporting requirement of this growing company.

The company has trading subsidiaries in Asia, North America and Europe and would expect continued M&A activity going forward.

As Financial Accountant you will be reporting to the CFO and responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Preparing the monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports
  • Tax reporting and inventory processing
  • Collecting and analysing data across each division in each territory, which is then used in the preparation of monthly reports
  • Creating KPI reports
  • Preparing cash flow statements, controlling expenditure and cash flow
  • Assisting with the preparation of year-end and statutory accounts to IFRS and GAPP compliant accounting
  • Assist in M&A activity
  • Group forecasting – with the aim of building a scalable and efficient global accounting and finance function
  • Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data
  • Examining financial records to check for accuracy
  • Managing and training staff when necessary

Qualifications and requirements

A degree and experience in the financial sector in any of the following areas being particularly advantageous:

  • Accountancy or Finance
  • Business Studies
  • Management

As well as formal qualifications the candidate should have the following qualities:

  • 2 years’ industry or M&A experience
  • Enjoy working in entrepreneurial environment
  • An analytical mind
  • Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships
  • Commercial and business awareness
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal
  • A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data
  • Deadline-orientated and an ability to stick to time constraints
  • Ambitious with a desire to advance to C-Suite management level
  • Independent and result orientated
